Firefish Grill in Santa Cruz

This is a wonderful place. Crab salad was outstanding and so were the drinks.

Great seafood and service. Outdoor seating is nice with boardwalk and bay views. Must try the xCioppino, scallops Monterey or sand dabs. Chowder best on wharf!!!

Might have been the best salmon I've ever had. Lots of traffic on the wharf but grateful for the chance to sit down and eat.

Pretty good food. Oysters were fresh. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The clam chowder in the sourdough bowl was delicious. The calamari was worth ordering. Tasty and not to crispy. Definitely worth to stop and grab a bite to eat.

I simply like their dishes. I always get awesome service here. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always very friendly. Keep up the good work.

Great food, location and views. A must do if visisting the Santa Cruz waterfront.

Really good seafood and one of the few places that you can order Abalone, it is not on the menu but you can ask for it a d it is really good. Good service and reasonable prices for the most part. I would recommend!

The view was perfect, company was better. I had the grilled halibut. Which was cooked to perfection. The flavor was out of this work. Even the vegetables that came with it were an outstanding flavor experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or visiting.

We started our first night dinner on our coastal vacation here... it did not fail us...the food was excellent the Halibut fish n chips were some of the best I've had, the beer batter actually had beer in it, you could smell and taste it's part in the dish... the fries were perfect, the bread n butter was excellent... my wife said her coffee was 5 stars and she's picky about her coffee but I could tell she loved it... iced tea is right down my alley and it was great came with lemon, orange slices and two mint leaves...the presentation of all the food was beautiful... Our waitress was friendly and helpful and our window view of the Ocean and the Lighthouse was very beautiful and very romantic.... would I eat here again? That's a big yes!!! Cost is medium to high but worth every penny... it was a great kickoff to our Vacation....

Great seafood! A little pricey for what you get but it's the area.

Great chowder!! Fish and chips horrible. Fish was soggy. Scallops were good and fettuccine Alfredo decent. Service was horrible. Came to our table 3 times but didn't bother to take away apps dishes so our table was full the entire meal. Even with the current covid thing I'd expect better service.

Food is yummy! Bartender is in the weeds! They need a faster more efficient bartender behind the bar. Wait staff had to take his table because he couldn't keep up. Waited 20 minutes just to get drinks!

Food was good and fairly priced. Drinks were stiff and delicious. Staff was very attentive. I'm sure the view is a lot better than at 8 at night when I went. They have great dinner specials. Clam chowder was delicious. Looks like the crowd is very mixed. Young college kids to elderly couples. Looks like it would be an interesting crowd on a Friday/Saturday night. Overall a pretty good place.

My waiter Darko , he was very good server.Food was good too.Only complaint is food they served wad fried and it's a grill.

Warf restaurant with nice views and decent seafood fare. Firefish fryer was a little dissapointing for the price with one skewer with five bite sized chunks of seafood (the rest being veggies and rice). The crab salad sandwich was solid with a ton of real crab without too much filler. Full bar, but the bartender is still getting the hang of the drink mix ratio, was way too sweet to drink.

Had the sand dabs, one of my favorite fishes and only available in this area. The were very good.

This place is phenomenal. Food was amazing! We got the Lobster Tail and Sirloin Steak. Best lobster tail I’ve ever had. Perfect portion sizes, great view, and awesome customer service. Our Server Anthony was very accommodating and provided excellent service. The manager Emily was also phenomenal.

The crab cake, served as an appetizer, was good. The service was excellent: I could eat all the cuisine in 40 minutes so that I wasn’t late to the next meeting in San Bruno. :-)

This was a great restaurant on the wharf. They have a great variety of seafood and a bunch of choices when it comes to beverages as well as appetizers. I had a great experience with my family and it was funny because the chef one of the waitress to make sure the play was presentable! She took it back so he can fix it. Those are really pretty experience with a great view! 😬

Good food. I had shrimps with vegetables and rice. The staff was friendly and service was reasonably quick.

Overall a good experience. We went in right when they opened. They had great ocean views you could see from any table in the dining area. The lunch specials are a really great deal. The food options were the usual friend calamari, steak and lobster, seafood platter. The ingredients tasted fresh and there were large portions. I will definitely go back and do recommend this place for their prices and quality of their food. :)

The food was great! But our server was not! She 1) did not check on us at all to see if we needed anything while we were eating, 2) didn't bring my son's second water he asked for, 3) brought my 4-yr.-old niece's soup last, when it was asked for first, 4) didn't have my to-go order ready when I ordered it with my meal & asked for it to be ready when we're done, so we had to wait another 20 minutes after we were done eating.

Good food, WAAAAAAAYYYYYY overpriced. The quality and portion sizes aren’t worth a third of the price. Payed $19.00 for some ok-tasting fish and chips that was 3 really small prices and a TON of fries. BE WARNED!! DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTURANT!! NOT WORTH IT!!!

We had a great lunch here on a Saturday afternoon with clear views of the beach and water. The food and service were both great and the weekend lunch specials were quite good. We'll definitely come back when we are in town again.

Great spot out on the wharf with Monday through Friday locals special menu that can't be beat. Full bar is nice but no draught beer is a bummer. Great views of West cliff and steamers lane as well.

If I could give this place 0 starts I would. The service was horrible. Waitress didn't check on me 1 time. Definitely would recommend training the servers!

Incredible salmon & great cocktails too. Was fantastic meal. Went with some local friends - so not just popular with tourists. Note that at night, even with a window seat (ocean view) it is pitch black out & you don't see anything. During the day, ocean view tables stunning view. Also great viewing kitchen - see all the food being prepared. Enjoy!

Never been here before and found it on Yelp cause I wanted a good seafood restaurant and this was one of some seafood restaurants featured on Yelp. Food was great, atmosphere very inviting. Had the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer which was AMAZE balls! Definitely would come here again

First time here and really enjoyed it. We had the clam chowder bread bowl (very good) and halibut fish and chips (cooked perfectly). The servers and other staff were very pleasant. Nice atmosphere and great view.

Terrible service and poor quality food. Dont waste your money here. This place charged me gratuity for 9 people when I only had 5. Food was cold and over priced. Very disappointed

Firefish was off the hook. The Cioppino was delish. One the best I have had. Although it did lack things such as shrimp, only three and i didn’t have mussels in it. The scallops were sure tasty. The fishermen’s noodle dish only had three shrimp too. This is the reason for only four stars. The men’s bathroom was clean. The help was friendly and happy to serve. Not sure if I will go back, I want to try another place when I visit. The place down closer to the end looks good too. You won’t get burned here. Also I heard the bartender is funny if you need a good laugh.

We went here on Tue 6/23. It was Delicious. My steak with mashed potatoes and veggies was so good. My sons seafood fettuccine Alfredo was Delicious. My husbands Salmon plate was amazing. Everythings was freashy made and drinks were yummy. Im glad we got a good server his name was Elvis. He was fantastic. Came to the table often and was making our drinks, since the bartender wasnt in the bar doing his job. Elvis was on it. We enjoyed our meal and service. We will definitely be back.

I don't like seafood so I had some steak pasta and it was good, not the best thing I've ever had but decent. I did try my nephew's salmon and it was very fresh just not to my tastes. He enjoyed it very much and I thought the sauce on it was amazing with the mashed potatoes underneath. Dessert was also really, really good. Overall it was a good meal.

The Service, Staff, Food are the absolute best , The Fire Cracker Prawns are a awesome appetizer ( Should be a Entree 😉 ) I've been here many of times and have never ever had a bad experience....I love this place

I decided to give this place a try and was very glad I did. The food was fantastic, being delivered to my table in a reasonable time, and the staff was very friendly. I found the food to be generous in serving size (I did not leave hungry!) and expertly prepared (every dish looked amazing!). I will definitely be coming back here again.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service.From the moment I walked into this place, I was made to feel welcome. Service was prompt and super-friendly and the food is frankly excellent. In fact I'd go so far as to say that the clam chowder was a work of art.The restaurant itself boasts magnificent views of the bay, as you'd expect, given the fact that it's located on a pier, and the decor is old-school, almost rustic. Overall this was a great dining experience, but for one small flaw. Despite the fact that the halibut special was excellent, the actual fish portion was tiny.

If I could I would give then a 0. Got a plate that cost me $30 i got 2 little square of fish, 2 shrimp, 3 clams, 3 little scallops, 2 little crab legs, very few calamari and a bunch of tomatoe soup. Grrrr and daughters fish was cold and Eric's food dry out and cold. Grrrrrr not worth the money at all.

Food was amazing. We ordered the firecracker prawns, clam chowder, salmon, and seafood platter. All were delicious, however service was a bit slow. This is not surprising because it was during lunchtime in the summer. Overall, I highly suggest trying out the restaurant at least once while you’re visiting the boardwalk
